Sign-up: We suggest signing up in couples, but solo sign-up is also possible, where a partner will be chosen for you through casting.
Location
Ibsenvej 5, Hostrup, 7860 Spøttrup, Denmark.
The location is a Danish luxuary vacation home in Spøttrup. The location consists of two main living rooms with the kitchen being part of one of them. In the vacation home there is an in-door pool, jacuzzi and sauna, several forms of gaming equipment including a ping-pong table and a pool table, as well as an out-door wilderness bath and a big garden.
Sleeping arrangements
There will be 8 bedrooms and two lofts where a couple will reside in each room/loft. It will be possible during sign-up to wish to not sleep in the lofts, as you need to be able to use a ladder to come up there. The lofts (picture 2) also open up to one of the living rooms, so if you are especially sensitive to sounds or lights maybe it will not be for you either. You can see more pictures of how the lofts look here.
You will share a room which consists of two single beds that can be put together to create a double bed with your partner. The rooms are in-game at all times, this includes during the night. You can of course go off-game in your room if you need a break, but we recommend keeping the rooms in-game especially during night time play, as we believe it will only heighten your experience. Be aware that all of the rooms will also at times be used for exercises during the game, but usually your room should be available at most times to relax in; otherwise the facilitators have a room that you can go and take an off-game break in druing the game, if needed.
If you are sensitive to snoring or the like, you are responsible to check in with your sign-up partner, whether it is possible for you to share a room together, as there will be no opportunity to share a room with anyone but your partner.

Accessibility
The location is wheel-chair accessible. There are no stairs and it is all on the same floor, the ladders to the lofts being the exception.
The acoustics are pretty average for the location. However music will be played during the game at certain times, including party music and the like--but it should be possible to go somewhere else if it becomes too loud for you. The curtains in the room are black-out curtains, but if you are sensitive about light, we recommend you bring something to cover your eyes for sleeping.
Transport to location
It is easiest to arrive on location with a car, and there is free parking on location. However, for those who do not arrive by car, we will try to arrange some pick-ups at Skive Station for those who need it.
Payment
Approx. 275 euro (2.050 dkk)
Standard ticket: approx. 275 euro (2.050 dkk)
Reduced ticket: approx. 81 euro (600 dkk)
The full price should be paid before the 1st of August, with the possibility of asking for it being paid in installments or later if needed. The last date to get a full refund for the larp January 13th, and after that if you drop out you will not be able to get a refund.
Reduced tickets
We offer 4 reduced tickets for each run for those who wants to be able to participate but might need a reduced pricepoint. 2 of those reduced tickets are for anyone in need of them, and the 2 other tickets will be given to someone who volunteers to help be "our kitchen crew".
"Kitchen crew"
Our "kitchen crew" at this game are not the ones responsible to actually make the food (read more under Food and beverages), but are the ones who are in-game in charge of making sure that someone makes the food, and are ready to step in if no one does. They are also expected to participate in a short meeting before the game about the logistics of this, and be willing to help keeping an eye on the state of the kitchen during the game. Being our "kitchen helpers" means being a player on equal terms as any other player, but just with a bit more responsibility (hence the reduced ticket).
You can let us know whether you are interested in this during sign-up. We recommend that you sign-up to do the kitchen with your in-game partner, but this is not a necessity.

Afterwards there will be a debriefings and an afterparty. Players have to leave the location before 14.00 on the final day (the 16th and the 20th). If needed it will be possible to leave location on the third day after game-end, but please let us know in advance.
Food and beverages
During sign-up it will be possible to write in any possible food allergies or other preferences regarding food. All dinners will be vegetarian, and there will primarily be vegetarian with some possible meat and fish options for lunch and breakfast. We will do our best to ensure that some part of the meal is warm for every meal (excluding lunch on the first day).
During the game, you as players will also be asked to help with preparing food and cleaning up after meals as part of the experience. However, it will always be possible to not engage in these activities, and there will be a couple in charge of making sure that there is food on the table if no one else decides to help. But we do recommend that you choose to engage in this part of the larp as it is an intended part of the design to cook and clean together.
During the game, there there will be free access to coffee, tea, juice and other snacks, and it is very possible and recommended to bring your own beverages and snacks for the game. It will be possible to keep them easily accessible outside or possibly in the refrigerator. There is a serviceable bar where there is a good possibility for having beverages places, especially if you let us know that you have a special need.
Allergies
If you have allergies or intolerances, there is a chance that you will be asked to prepare your own food, as we cannot make sure that every single player knows how to handle cross-contamination.
Alcohol
It is allowed to consume alcohol during the game. There will be some alcohol available for everyone, but we recommend bringing your own if you intend on consuming more than a drink per day. It is not allowed to be drunk during the game at all, and we only want you to attend the game if you are certain you can control your own intake of alcohol, and we preserve the right to both throw you to bed or ask you to leave the larp if you break this rule. There will also be alcohol free alternatives for those who want to in-game take part in drinking, but do not wish to do so out of game.
Sign-up and casting process
Sign-up is open. You can find information about the sign-up form on the next page here.
Sign-up is open from 11th to the 31st of May. When you sign-up, you will be able to sign up as a couple or an individual. Signing up as a couple means that you choose to play a couple in the game as well. If you sign up as an individual, if you get a spot, you will be paired with someone else through casting.
During sign-up you will be asked questions about which themes and content you would and would not like to play on, as well as other possible character preferences. We recommend talking with your partner if you sign up in couples, on what you would like to experience together in the larp. This does not have to be extensive, but a small talk is advised to give you the best experience.
Casting will happen primarily through lottery, with a lesser number of the players for each run being chosen to make casting easier. You will hear if you got a spot before June 16th. You can also sign-up to the waiting-list after the initial sign-up has finished.
Flagging for safety and co-player preferences
There will be a process for flagging co-players for this larp in order to try help ensure safety and preferences for play with your co-players. This means that after signing up, a list of sign-ups will be sent to each player where they will get the possibility to flag other players. We will operate with 2 types (or categories) of flags - read about them below.
Categories of flags:
-
Safety Flags: Flagging people in terms of safety, means that you will have the possibility to tell us if there are co-players that in any way or form make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, if you play with them. For this type of flagging it will be possible to let us know whether these co-players are someone you don't feel comfortable/safe playing a close or certain relation with, whether you don't feel same being in the same run as them, or someone you in general believe to be too unsafe to participate in the larp. We will make sure these wishes are respected and no one plays with someone they feel unsafe with.
-
Co-player preferences: Flagging in terms of co-player preferences means that it will be possible for you to let us know if you have certain specific preferences for who and want you want to play with certain co-players. Here you can state a player you would prefer to play with or play certain relations with, or players where you prefer not playing certain relations with, but where it’s not a deal-breaker and doesn't have anything to do with you feeling safe to play with them or not. We will try our best to have these preferences in mind, but cannot promise to fulfill everyone’s wishes in casting.
More details on how flagging works will be sent out during the flagging process, but if you have any questions before that, feel free to write an email to trueloveinitiative@gmail.com, and we will try our best to answer it.
We will try our best to make sure that everyone is respected in the process.
Costumes
The costumes and aesthetic is modern clothing, just like our own. Whatever you feel like would fit your character is fitting. If you want any inspiration, using pastel colors could work well with the aesthetic of the larp. We recommend bringing clothes for several days of play, as well as possible party outfits your character could choose to change into.
Photos
Right now, it is not certain there will be taken photos during the larp. If it ends up happening, there will be a flagging process of the photos afterwards, so you have a say before any one of them gets shared or possibly used for possible future promotion of the larp (but you will be asked beforehand).
Do you want to help crewing?
At this time, we are not necessarily in need of help to run the game, but there is a chance that it could happen, especially if someone are in a particular want to help out. For this game, there are two run-time facilitators who are also the in-game facilitators, or 'Lovebird FacilitatorsTM', who run the exercises and help creating small tests that push the players during the game. If you could be interested in helping with facilitating the game, coming up with exercises and help structure the experience for our players, this could be someone for you. There is also a more practical helper 'Kit, the Assistant', who helps with driving, turning on the sauna, setting up scenes, giving an extra hand in the kitchen, and so on.
If either of these things is something that could interest you at all, feel free to reach out at trueloveinitiative@gmail.com and let us know! om
